How do we improve user experience in invoice and estimate work order flows?

Swivl is a field service management platform for small and mid-sized service businesses. Work Order Management is the core module, with Estimates as a sub-category. Estimates lets a tenant send costed proposals for products and services to its customers. Invoices lets the same tenant bill for work delivered. Together the two form the commercial spine of the platform, carrying a job from quoted price to collected payment, and are used by office admins on desktop and by technicians on mobile at the job site.

Invoice

Invoices enables service businesses to bill customers for completed work. It brings together job details, services, products, taxes, discounts, and payment information into a single invoice that can be reviewed, shared with customers, and tracked through its payment status.

The flow is designed to help office admins and technicians create accurate invoices quickly and move from completed work to payment with minimal effort.

Creation Flow

Invoices 2.0 replaced a four-step wizard and a read-only detail page with a single focused editor paired with a live preview. Editing moved inline, job linking became the prefill entry point, margin turned into an internal control, and optional fields moved behind toggles.
